Grace and I were talking yesterday morning about diary keeping and the need for it. I know my diary, and Grace’s too, consist of appointments and a record of the everyday things done, ie. Shopping etc which are always the same and which we know we have done with or without a diary by the day on which we did it. We thought that this was rather sad and more of a reason for not keeping a diary than one for doing so.
However, from time to time, and sometimes often, I use Grace as a sounding board for my ideas and thoughts, to which she usually listens politely while she waits for me to exhaust the subject and give her a bit of peace again to carry on with what she was doing before I interrupted her. So ….. It seemed a good idea to put those ideas and thoughts etc into a daily diary. This morning it still seems a good idea so here we are.
Yesterday was New Year’s Day again. We spent the day indoors, it being a deplorable day outside. Grace made a dash down the road to the papershop for the Daily Mail, but after that we did what we do best and just relaxed. I,
